How it works
Three steps, zero IT project. And two guarantees: every answer cites its source, and no answer is made up.
1. Official sources
We load the official content you point us at: bylaws, e-office procedures, opening hours, agenda and news. It's re-indexed periodically so answers never go stale, with the update date visible on every citation.
2. Answers with citations
When a citizen asks, EnaChat searches the town's documents and writes the answer only from that content, in the citizen's language. Under every answer: the link to the original source. If the citizen starts from a wrong premise (an old deadline, a changed fee), it corrects them citing the source — it doesn't agree to please.
3. Human hand-off
If the sources don't cover the question, EnaChat says so clearly and sends the question to the citizen office's inbox. The “Talk to a person” button is always visible, and the office's phone and hours sit in the widget footer: the assistant adds a channel, it never removes one.
What EnaChat will never do
- Make up an answer when the sources don't cover it
- Hide human contact or run citizens in circles
- Perform transactions or give legal advice — it informs, it doesn't transact
- Profile citizens or keep conversations beyond the retention policy
Questions councils ask us
There are already free assistants from AOC and the provincial council. Why one of our own?
Shared assistants answer what is the same everywhere: how a generic procedure works, what a digital ID is. None of them knows your recycling centre's opening hours, your terrace bylaw or your festival calendar. That is exactly what EnaChat answers, and it sits alongside the free services without replacing any of them.
Our website is hosted by the provincial council or by AOC. Do we have to change it?
You only paste a <script> tag into the site template, which every content manager allows. If you don't have that access, we give you an assistant page on your own domain and you link it from the menu.
Who is accountable if the assistant gives out wrong information?
The assistant is not a source: it reproduces municipal content and always links it, with the automated-assistant notice visible. When an answer is wrong it usually means the source is wrong or out of date: fix the source and the answer changes. You can review conversations and unanswered questions in the console.
How long does it take to go live?
Days. Indexing a small or mid-size town's sources takes hours; the real time goes into agreeing with you which sources are in scope and where hand-offs should land.
Will it replace citizen office staff?
No. It absorbs repetitive questions and the ones that arrive when the office is closed. The office's phone and opening hours stay visible in the widget, and the digital channel adds to in-person service rather than replacing it.
Can we decide what it answers and what it doesn't?
Yes. You decide which sources are indexed and which stay out, and which inbox hand-offs go to. Outside those sources, the assistant doesn't answer.
What happens if we don't renew one year?
You remove the tag from the website and that's it. You export the sources and the report history, and we delete every piece of the town's data within 30 days, with a deletion certificate. No lock-in, no penalty.
